Add a Dash of Luck and Style to Your Everyday Routine with the Fortunata Bag

Pierotucci has launched the debut of its newest addition to their Italian leather bag collection, the Unisex Fortunata Bag.

June 21, 2011 /Apparel - Textile PR News/ -- Pierotucci has launched the debut of its newest addition to their Italian leather bag collection, the Unisex Fortunata Bag. The bag is playful, colorful, eco-friendly and functional and though designed to appeal to a younger crowd, it has had an overwhelming success with all ages. The Fortunata designer bag has incorporated the best of Italy. You will find quality raw material, artisan workmanship and trendy style, not to mention a dash of their elegance and playfulness. This leather bag has captured the attention of the world at large with its wide selection of colors, versatile carrying styles, signature lucky charm dangling on the side and the note of uniqueness found only in a numbered collection.

The Pierotucci Leather Factory has taken a step towards expanding their horizons and their designer handbag collection. The Royal Highness, Tucci and Toscanella line from Pierotucci, boast of clean straight lines and elegant tones. While the latter dabbles a bit more with a casual style, their signature design normally attracts a more mature yet active shopper. Thus grew the inspiration to create a new type of bag, something that would resonate with the new generation of bag carriers. When asked what influenced his new design, Matteo Tucci responded, "My idea was to appeal to a younger crowd, both women and men, who in today's society appreciate versatility. Here in Italy, we see ourselves as unique, genuine, serious and concerned about world health yet we do it with flair and playfulness. So I looked around at what would make this type of statement."

Fortune was on their side, and this idea to design a new type of bag coincided with a wonderful opportunity to clean out the closet of several other Florentine leather craftsmen. Since each leather company has its own signature style, which requires many different types and colors of leather, they found themselves sitting on a treasure trove of possibilities. The design team at Pierotucci now had the beginning of an idea and a warehouse filled with an enormous range of materials, colors, textures and styles. "When designing the Fortunata Handbag, I like to say we went eco-friendly," explains Matteo, "By utilizing leftover pieces of leather, not only did we create diversity, but we also gave the bag an identity. However I believe the big difference was the touch of playfulness found in the lucky charm which has become the symbol of the bag."

What distinguishes the Fortunata Designer Bag from other bags?

Firstly, Pierotucci was forced to produce a limited series of each bag due to finite quantities of raw materials - so they played with that and decided to make each set numbered, emphasizing the uniqueness of each style. Each series is easily identified by the external color and material (canvas, leather and precious leathers), the lining in the bag and the canvas shoulder strap. Secondly, after polling their past clients and testing the new market it became clear: bag size was important. A bag needed to grow or shrink according to the daily use thus, they created one bag with two sizes incorporated by adding metal hooks that let you fold without losing style. Thirdly, if the bag was going to appeal to a unisex market, different age groups and have different uses then it was obvious there would have to be more than one way to carry the bag. The combination of top handles and colorful removable shoulder straps was the ideal solution. The bag can be used as a top handle bag, crossbody, shoulder tote or clutch. Lastly, a bit of fun - and luck - the corno rosso or chili pepper is one of the most potent symbols of good luck in Southern Italian culture. These little charms are sold just about everywhere and can be seen in hanging in cars, around necks and as cell phone charms and are now attached to this Italian designer bag.

The bags are available in Florence and Rome, and on the Pierotucci on-line store. However if you see one you like - buy fast, because the sets are small, usually not numbering more that 5 or 6 of any one color combination and they normally don't sit around for long.
