Earth Day Launch of Boards2Bags Encourages Consumers to Reduce Plastic Bag Usage

According to Ben Ralston, operations manager of Ralston Outdoor Advertising, "In our efforts to be a more eco-friendly company, we decided that converting our retired billboards into a line of unique bags would prevent our billboards from ending up in landfills and contribute to reducing plastic bag usage."
The Wall Street Journal recently claimed that the U.S. uses approximately 100 billion plastic shopping bags annually. It is estimated that nearly 12 million barrels of oil is required to make that many plastic bags. Elizabeth Ralston Rietz, manager of Boards2Bags products, states, "We hope our recycled billboard bags can help reduce the amount of plastic bags consumed nationwide. As a society, it is becoming increasingly essential to create goods out of recycled materials."
Boards2Bags offers five signature bags:
- The Beach Bag
- The Bolsa Mercado (market bag)
- The Everyday Tote (everyday bag or purse)
- The Mini (small lunch tote or child's reusable bag)
